The military unit 1043 of the Police Troops of the Republic of Armenia was established with the aim of ensuring protection and security of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant as a special purpose facility. It is 40 years since the military unit has been fulfilling with great responsibility and commitment the objectives set, and more than once they have demonstrated a high-level preparedness and possession of necessary skills of their staff when performing complicated functional duties that require a constant vigilance.

This year on June 25^th a solemn ceremony marking the 40^th anniversary of the military unit formation was held. The ceremony was attended by H. Babayan, the commander of the RA Police Troops - Deputy Police Chief, by the deputies of the Police Troops Commander, by    A. Saroyan, the «HAEK» CJSC Deputy Director General – Director on Physical Protection and Security.

The opening speech and congratulatory messages were followed by the awarding ceremony: by the decrees of V. Ghazaryan, the RA Police Chief, H. Babayan, the commander of the RA Police Troops, A. Udumyan, the 1043 military unit commander and E. Martirosyan,           «HAEK» CJSC Director General a number of military unit servicemen were awarded commemorative medals and certificates of merit for the distinguished service.
