The Children of the Nuclear Power Workers Took Part in the Chess Tournament

The children of the nuclear energy workers actively participated in the chess tournament on the occasion of the opening of a chess school at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Yerevan where chess teaching will be in Russian. The event was held in the framework of the celebrations of the Moscow Day in Yerevan.
It’s the first school of this kind, in spite of the fact that the chess is included in the school curriculum. Tigran Nalbandyan, the Olympic champion, grand master will be in charge of the school.
The motto of FIDE "Gens Una Sumus", which in translation from Latin means "We are one people", finds a response in the hearts of the children of nuclear energy workers. The most important thing in chess is the fact that it’s a fair game. Our children are taught to play frankly and fairly and consequently to have proper behaviour. When playing the chess games the children have to make strategic decisions, assess the situation prior to each move.
