Minister Suren Papikyan met with Aleksey Likhachev, General Director of ROSATOM State Corporation in the framework of the IAEA 64th General Conference. 

During the meeting issues related to the progress of the Program for the Armenian NPP operating unit design life extension were discussed.  

Minister Papikyan touched upon the details of implementing the remaining activities aimed at the NPP modernization using budgetary loan granted from the state budget according to the RA government decision.

The interlocutors discussed the issue of completing the activities provided for by the framework agreement concluded with the “Rusatom Service” company in accordance with the established schedule.  

Taking into account the role of the NPP in the power system of Armenia the parties expressed willingness to outline potential areas of cooperation with ROSATOM Corporation.
