«The nuclear power industry for Armenia is the pivot that holds the country’s energy security together. In order not to lose what has been gained for years the country needs specialists who would develop the science, implement high-tech solutions, including in the nuclear power industry. The format of the drawing enables to show by available means the whole variety of application of nuclear technologies. We are sure that one of the participants will decide to dedicate his life to this sphere and will choose the profession of a nuclear energy worker», -  noted Margarita Balayan, Head of the Division of Atomic Energy of the Energy Department of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia.

The variety of the spheres of applying nuclear technologies can only be compared with the variety of visual means of expression and formats that are used by the contest participants in preparation of their works. Here you will find both watercolor, chalk and pencil drawings, that have already become traditional, and works made using computer graphics. The jury of the contest will evaluate the originality of the idea, craftsmanship, as well as comprehensive unfolding of the subject.

«The twenty-first century is the century of a breakthrough to the new and unknown.  We are taking a step towards a new world of future, and all this is facilitated by new breakthrough technologies and energy that powers all the devices in the world. The contest is intended to show how the young people see the day of tomorrow through the use of peaceful atom and new technologies. This will be a distinctive view towards the Future of Humanity. May the best and the most worthy win!» - supported the participants Hayk Melkonyan, well-known professional photographer whose works were published in international and national popular science magazines, such as «National Geographic», «Geo», «Conde Nast Traveller», «Yerevan» and many others.

The Armenian NPP on a regular basis conducts activities for the children of the plant employees with the view of popularization of nuclear technologies and professions in this sphere so that the children understand the value of their parents’ work.

«I am very pleased that now such a contest is conducted specifically on a national scale. Thus more people will get to know about nuclear power industry and its importance to the world and, in particular, to Armenia. The more people who properly understand how these technologies work, the less myths and groundless fears of atomic energy there will be. To achieve good results in the industry it is very important for us to have the trust and support of the public and I am sure that this kind of educational projects will help us in this regard», - said Narek Ordubekyan, Engineer of the Armenian NPP who has got his first education in the area visual art.
