Vardanyan, Deputy Minister of TAI of RA, took part in the 12th ATOMEXPO-2022 International Forum in Sochi. The Armenian delegation attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition, the plenary session of the forum, visited the exhibition stands, where new technologies and equipment were demonstrated, new proposals and solutions to a number of industry issues were presented. For the most interesting exhibits, technical, technological and contact data were obtained for further discussion and evaluation.

In the framework of the forum during a meeting with A. Likhachev, Director General of the Rosatom State Corporation, the effectiveness of the long-term Armenian-Russian cooperation in the nuclear industry was commended and prospects for enhancement were outlined.

The issues of the ANPP Unit 2 life extension were discussed with the management of the Rusatom Service JSC. According to the agreement the discussion and coordination of the positions of the parties on this topic will be continued in the course of further meetings.

As part of a quite busy agenda the ANPP managers also met with N. Spassky, Deputy Director General of the Rosatom State Corporation and discussed the issues of possible construction of new nuclear power units in the Republic of Armenia.

E. Martirosyan, General Director of the HAEK CJSC, as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Moscow Center of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO), took part in the scheduled activities of the association, and at a working meeting with A. Petrov, Director General of the Rosenergoatom Concern JSC he made a presentation entitled «Vision of the role of the chairman of the WANO Board of Governors in the context of current changes and challenges».

Meetings were also organized with the management of the TVEL JSC. A number of practical steps were coordinated and certain agreements were reached.

Within the framework of the 12th ATOMEXPO-2022 International Forum a number of youth events were traditionally held, which were attended by more than 100 representatives of technological enterprises, higher educational institutions and public organizations from about 10 countries of the African, Latin American and Asian continents, including representatives from the ANPP.

The program of events implemented jointly with the BRICS youth energy agency (a group of 5 countries: Brazil, Russian Federation, India, China and Republic of South Africa) was also very challenging. The established working groups discussed the industry problems raised, presented their options and steps for their possible solution. As a result, the developed draft projects were presented to K. Komarov, First Deputy Director General of the Rosatom State Corporation and other high-ranking officials of the industry, who, having welcomed and commended the ideas and initiatives of the youth, expressed their willingness to provide maximum support in the implementation of the submitted projects.

In the framework of the forum the representatives of the youth wing were the first to get the opportunity of watching the documentary "Nuclear" by American director Oliver Stone. It analyzes in detail the damage and consequences caused by large volumes of carbon dioxide emissions and emphasizes the important role of nuclear energy in preventing a global catastrophe.
