On May 2, 2023, the delegation led by the General Director of Rosatom State Corporation Alexey Likhachyov was in Armenia.

In the framework of the visit, a meeting was held with the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. During the meeting, which was also attended by the General Director of HAEK CJSC Eduard Martirosyan, among other projects, the projects regarding operating life extension of the Armenian NPP Unit 2, as well as the construction of a new power unit in the territory of the Republic of Armenia were discussed.

N. Pashinyan stressed the importance of close and effective cooperation between the Government of the RA and the State Corporation "Rosatom" and highly valued the role of the corporation in the successful implementation of the above-mentioned projects. In gratitude for the high appreciation of Prime Minister A. Likhachyov confirmed the readiness of the Russian side to continue a mutually beneficial partnership.

On the same day, the RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan received the Russian delegation. During the meeting, the program for the re-extension of the operating life of the ANPP power unit in operation was discussed, following its approval, the corresponding works will start.

As for the project of the new nuclear power unit construction in Armenia, it should be noted that the preliminary feasibility study is under review.

Other issues related to current programs and new directions of cooperation were also discussed with the Russian side.
