A delegation of representatives of the European Court of Auditors was in Armenia from 5 to 8 May 2025. The audit visit to the Republic of Armenia was planned in the context of the audit on International Nuclear Safety Cooperation.

On May 7 the members of the Court of Auditors visited the Armenian NPP.

According to the agenda a meeting with the ANPP management was held in the first half of the day. During the meeting the plant managers and the consultant for the «On-Site Assistance» EU project delivered presentations on the ANPP modernization and safety improvement activities that have been or will be performed in the framework of the projects implemented under EU support. Relevant issues related to timescales and financial resources were discussed and some important aspects pertaining to safety and key performance indicators were clarified. Later on a plant tour was organized so that the auditors could become familiar with the results of the work performed with a view to upgrade the plant systems and equipment. During the visit the auditors were also given the opportunity to see with their own eyes the equipment delivered to the ANPP in the framework of assistance.

In conclusion, the parties thanked each other for organizing the visit and expressed hope for further effective cooperation aimed at enhancing nuclear safety.
