On 13 February, 2021 at 15։29 local time the Seismological Network of the Territorial Seismic Protection Service of the RA MES recorded an earthquake of magnitude 4,7 eight kilometres south-east from Yerevan. The depth of the focus was 10 km.

At the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant the earthquake did not cause technical problems related to safety, since the intensity of the earthquake in the territory of the nuclear power plant was twice as low as the scale allowed for actuation of the safety system. The NPP continues to operate in a normal mode at full allowable power.
