At the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) planned preventive maintenance activities (outage-2024) continue. They are being implemented according to the established schedule and will be completed in the first ten days of August.

As part of outage-2024, measures will be performed to improve the operational safety of the plant, in particular, major overhaul of the reactor facility, major overhaul of the 3rd turbine and 3rd turbine generator, current maintenance of the 4th turbine and 4th turbine generator, major overhaul of the reactor vessel, maintenance and control of the reactor vessel basic metal and reactor internals, replacement and control of bearings for the drives of emergency shutdown, regulating and shim assemblies, overhaul and inspection of the main isolation valve as part of the Operating Life Re-Extension Program.

In addition to the employees of the main departments of the Nuclear Power Plant, experienced specialists from Armatom, Energy Repair Garant, Volt Ampere, IS ENERGY, PROTERM, PROMMONTAGE companies, as well as specialists from Russia, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Ukraine are involved in the current activities.

On the basis of the positive expert opinion issued as a result of tests and inspections performed upon completion of outage-2024, the ANPP Unit 2 will be connected to the unified power grid of Armenia.
