Eduard Martirosyan, Director General of HAEK CJSC and Chairman of the Governing Board of WANO MC, participated in the meetings of the WANO Governing Board and the Strategy, Governance, and Nomination Committee held in Budapest from October 23 to 24.

During the sessions, fundamental issues related to expanding the organization's membership, involving new members, and improving support systems were discussed with the participation of the leadership of the WANO Central Office and the Directors of the regional centres of Moscow, Shanghai, London, Tokyo, and Atlanta. Special attention was also paid to enhancing the safety of operating units, increasing operational efficiency and optimizing opportunities for lifetime extension.

The key role of WANO was emphasized as a platform for sharing operating experience, implementing best international practices and ensuring continuous development of professional capabilities.

WANO Chief Executive Officer Naoki Chigusa highly appreciated the consistent work of member organizations toward the continuous improvement of plant operating efficiency and management culture. He highlighted the modernization efforts being implemented within the framework of the  “Path to Excellence” initiative, emphasizing that the  implementation of new systems for data analysis and process monitoring contributes to the continuous increase in plant reliability and productivity.
