Participation in WANO Meetings
From April 8 to 11 of this year, Eduard Martirosyan, General Director of HAEK CJSC and Chairman of the Board of Governors of the WANO Moscow Center, participated in the meetings of the Board of Governors (BoG) and the Strategy, Governance and Nominations Committee (SGNC) of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO), held in London, United Kingdom.
The World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) unites all operating nuclear power plants worldwide and provides a platform for experience sharing, peer reviews, technical support, and continuous improvement.
The Armenian Nuclear Power Plant has extensive experience operating under regional infrastructural and geopolitical challenges, which makes it a valuable partner within WANO. This participation, in its turn, provides an opportunity to share the Armenian experience in parallel with international experts, thereby contributing not only to overall industry development but also to sustainable progress at the strategic and management levels.
The heads and board chairmen of the Shanghai, London, Tokyo and Atlanta Centres also participated.
Reports of the regional centres, as well as the outcomes of peer reviews and technical exchanges, were presented. Particular attention was given to enhancing safety levels, the implementation of digital technologies and ensuring sustainable operation.
The meetings took place in a constructive and efficient atmosphere, reaffirming the mission of the WANO to develop global partnerships among NPP operators, with the goal of achieving the highest levels of safety, reliability, and professional excellence in the field of nuclear power plant operations.
