Outage activities are being performed at the ANPP

Outage activities are currently underway at the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) in accordance with the approved 2025 schedule. The refurbishment began in May and is scheduled to be completed in the first ten days of July, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the plant’s second power unit.

The outage not only provides the opportunity to repair and inspect systems, but also to perform structural and technological upgrades necessary to future operation. It is one of the pillars of the uninterrupted and safe operation of the plant and directly contributes to Armenia’s energy independence and stability.

During the outage-2025 it is planned to carry out a number of important technical and safety-related works at the Armenian NPP, including the repair of the reactor facility, turbines and turbogenerators, inspection of in-vessel devices, as well as the modernization of systems within the framework of the life extension program.

These activities are aimed at improving the technical condition of the plant’s equipment, strengthening operational safety and achieving the goals of extending the operational life of the power unit.

The work is being carried out by specialists from the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant, as well as representatives of Armenian and foreign organizations from Russia, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Ukraine.

After the completion of the activities tests and inspections will be implemented at the plant, after which the second power unit will be connected to the unified power system of Armenia.
