Suren Papikyan, Minister of TAI during a meeting with Juan Karlos Lentijo, Deputy Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency discussed the programs aimed at improvement of physical protection and safety of the Armenian NPP, which are being implemented and are scheduled in the framework of the IAEA technical support.  

The interlocutors touched upon the results of different IAEA missions conducted in the Republic of Armenia.   

Attaching importance to ensuring their continuity, minister Papikyan suggested that IAEA additional support programs, aimed at improvement of the Armenian NPP safety, should be added.

During the meeting issues related to the program for the ANPP operating unit design life extension, as well as issues pertaining to the ANPP safety enhancement were discussed.
