On July 19 and 20, 2023, representatives of the IAEA Nuclear Security Division visited the Armenian NPP. The purpose of the visit was to evaluate the work completed within the framework of the ANPP Barrier Enhancement Program. During the walkdown conducted for this purpose, the IAEA representatives checked the system's performance in the field and assessed it positively.

During the meeting, priority areas for enhancement of the effectiveness of the physical protection measures of the Armenian NPP were also identified, and possible further projects in this regard were discussed.

At the end of the discussions, the IAEA representatives highly appreciated the ongoing cooperation with the ANPP in the field of physical protection enhancement, as well as the readiness of the Armenian side to consolidate this cooperation.
