ACTIVIVTIES ON MODERNIZATION OF THE FULL-SCOPE SIMULATOR ARE UNDERWAY
At the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) activities aimed at modernizing and expanding the functionality of the full-scope simulator are going on. The project is being implemented with the participation of «WSC, lnc.», «SRI ARMATOM» and «Galaktika»" companies.
The full-scope simulator developed and implemented in 2013 with the support of the European Union and the Slovak company «VUJE, a.s.» is a software and hardware modeling complex. It is designed for professional training and continuous improvement of the practical skills of the MCR operating staff of the nuclear power plant.
Since 2019 under the U.S. Department of Energy support program, WSC, lnc. and the Armatom Scientific Research Institute have developed and implemented new models of simulators using new generation technologies, taking into account the modernizations and upgrades implemented as part of the power unit's life extension program.
Accordingly, the simulator, equipped with a new software base, computers and servers of the new generation, as a result of modernization, corresponds to the systems and equipment of the ANPP Unit 2 and provides real-time simulation of all operating modes.
In August 2024, it is envisaged to conduct comprehensive tests of the entire simulator configuration for the purpose of its commissioning.
