CLARIFICATION REGARDING THE RECORDED LACK OF METAL SCRAP AT THE HAEK CJSC AND THE WIDELY PUBLICIZED REPORTS IN THE MEDIA, WE DECLARE THE FOLLOWING:

On March 5, 2025, during a routine visit to one of the warehouses located outside the controlled area of the plant by a staff member of the plant's storage management, a visual inspection revealed a lack of stored scrap metal in the form of copper pipes. A report on this matter was submitted to law enforcement authorities. It should be noted that these pipes were dismantled in the early 2000s from the non-operational condenser of the turbine hall of Unit 1 of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant, which has been in long-term shutdown. They were subsequently transferred to the storage facility as scrap metal for decommissioning purposes. These pipes were not suitable for intended use. The fact of their disappearance cannot impact the safety or uninterrupted operation of the nuclear power plant, as they were classified as scrap metal. We would like to note that a significant portion of the ANPP’s storage facilities, more than a dozen, are located outside the plant’s controlled industrial area, in the adjacent territory, which has a total area exceeding 500 hectares. These storage facilities mainly contain decommissioned equipment that is no longer suitable for intended use, as well as scrap metal resulting from dismantling.
