Chess Championship
From March 19 to April 3 of this year, the annual individual chess championship was held at the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant. This tournament has long become an integral part of the plant's cultural and sports life, providing employees with the opportunity to compete in an intellectual game platform and develop logical thinking.
Chess has attracted great interest among employees, and this year 15 chess enthusiasts participated in the championship. It was organized upon the initiative of the Chairman of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant trade union organization Yu. Dolinyan and the organizer of cultural and sports events Yu. Hovhannisyan.
The competition was quite intense, and the fight for victory continued until the last round. As a result, first to third places were taken by Sevak Zakaryan, Arman Hayrapetyan, and Harutyun Gevorgyan, respectively, who demonstrated a confident, stable, balanced, and convincing game.
The winners were awarded by the Director General of the HAEK CJSC, Eduard Martirosyan, who noted that chess is a game that not only develops logical thinking, but also improves employees' concentration and problem-solving skills, which is especially important for those working in the nuclear power plant sector.
The winning participants were awarded medals, certificate of honours and memorable gifts.
Chess has long-standing traditions at the ANPP, and this championship once again showed that the specialists working at the plant are not only highly qualified specialists in their field, but also skillfully apply their strategic and logical thinking around the game table.
The management of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant regularly supports such events, encouraging healthy competition, events aimed at intellectual development, and active leisure for employees.
